After my optimistic and upbeat last post, you might think that I’ve churning out pages by the dozen.
Sadly you would be wrong to think this…I just haven’t.
It did kind of feel like a new start for me, getting Bus Station out, but it wasn’t. I’m still the same old me.
As ProtectRite said on Twitter, maybe the dark days of winter are better for writing. I’m starting to think this.
I know I should look forward to long, bright summer days, particularly after the winter I have just had, but I’m just not a summer sort of person. I suffer from heyfever, having fair skin I go from pasty white to lobster pink in minutes and I don’t cope well with heat (being a…er little overweight!)
Given all of this, is it any wonder I don’t really enjoy summer so much?
Okay, so I’m not a big lover of the summer months, but is that a reason to feel down? It is after all only 25% of the year and in the UK we probably get much less than that of actual summery weather. Well no, but it does seem to me that everyone else gets happier in the summer months. I know I shouldn’t judge my own mood based on the mood of others, but it just seems to be show up the contrast more.
Because everyone else seems to love summer so much it just seems to make me feel more of an outsider than normal.
Okay this post is wondering now! It’s getting more to personal stuff than I normally cover in blog post, so lets get back on track…
I’m just going to say that it’s not just the writing and the fact that I might be going through a bit of writers block right now, other things in my life are…not making me happy.
The writing is part of that and maybe it’s the thing that I can use to pull my self out of these summertime blues. If I can get back to regular writing I can start to feel better about me and my life and work from there.
